New Memory Care Neighborhood Opens in Vantage Point Community

Monterey Place includes private apartments, assistance with daily living and 24/7 staff availability

Vantage Point, a Life Plan Community located in Downtown Columbia, has announced the opening of Monterey Place, a dedicated memory care neighborhood within its community

The memory care support at Monterey Place is the newest enhancement at Vantage Point, which recently underwent a multi-million-dollar major renovation and expansion to provide specialized memory care, additional dining venues, fitness and recreational spaces as well as other enhancements for residents.

Also announced as part of the community’s overall evolution is a re-branding and renaming of the community to Residences at Vantage Point. “The renovations and recent expansion of services, such as the addition of Monterey Place, is the perfect opportunity to re-brand the community as we look forward and build upon the legacy and success we’ve created over the past 28 years in Columbia,” explains Meriann Ritacco, Executive Director.

Monterey Place includes 24 private apartments and well appointed, homelike shared spaces. Assistance is provided with daily living needs such as bathing, dressing and meals, as well as medication management and 24/7 staff availability. Monterey Place is a Hearthstone Institute Certified Center of Excellence and follows an innovative evidence-based approach to improve quality of life and reduce common symptoms of memory loss.

Residences at Vantage Point was founded in 1990 and is a nonprofit serving people age 60 and above. Managed by Life Care Services, the community includes a variety of residential living arrangements from studio to three-bedroom apartments. It provides long-term health services available exclusively for residents should they need them.
